Business Development Manager

We are looking to strengthen our team with a:  

                                                                                             Business Development Manager
 


The role is geographically based in our UK location. The focus will be on developing key, long term client partnerships in line with our strategy and will work alongside colleagues as part of a European sales team. You will be successful in identifying, approaching and converting new customers and able to demonstrate excellent industry knowledge and a vision of our market for the future. You will be expected to keep up to date with the very latest trends in our industry and to translate this knowledge into opportunities. You will have a proven track record of converting substantial, long term prospects into key strategic clients.
 You will be able to align Alrec’s portfolio of services with the needs of potential customers to drive higher than average conversion rates outlining the strategy on how we can best win the work based upon your knowledge and relationship with the client. New account wins will overtime become house accounts and you will be responsible together with the Client Service Directors in assisting the seamless transition of the client into the client delivery teams.  You will also work with the group Marketing team to produce engaging, insightful industry comment for use in our marketing activities.  


Role specifics and responsibilities:

  • Realizing targeted sales and margin expectations through the acquisition of new business accounts;
  • Strategic prospects should be converted to regular spending clients who utilize our portfolio of services, creating long term partnerships. This means customers with the opportunity to continue to develop, based upon our proposition;
  • Analysis of the (UK and European) market to propose strategic clients that best fit the Alrec proposition;
  • Establishing contacts with potential customers;
  • Developing a specific / tailored approach to prospects, including presentations and relevant content;
  • Analysis, reporting and presentation of market trends in retail and social media, prospect contacts, and of competition research;
  • Defining, implementing and reporting a new business plan;
  • Preparation, maintenance and presentation of account plans with key prospects;
  • Providing input for the development of the Alrec proposition;
  • Transfer a concrete lead (project) to the account manager and project team;
  • Track the development process from a project to the order phase that has been passed on to an account manager;
  • Use of LinkedIn and other channels for the expansion of the network;
  • Providing relevant content for Alrec PR via the Website and the Alrec LinkedIn page;
  • Representation of Alrec business development in UK during company events / meetings;
  • Working alongside and as part of the wider Alrec Business Development team;
  • To be an example in the use and contribution in development of Alrec In-Site;
  • You will report weekly with the CSD team UK and New Business team The Netherlands.  

Your profile:

  • College/University with 5+ years of commercial work experience;
  • You are proactive, enthusiastic, thorough and tenacious;
  • You are familiar with an international A-brand environment;
  • Expert in the service proposition of Alrec;
  • You can trace the (retail) business strategy and objectives of a potential customer through an interview;
  • You can produce customized client presentations using the Alrec asset library and current retail trends;
  • Experienced and confident at presenting to clients at Director level;
  • You can establish and maintain contacts with potential customers focused on a long-term relationship;
  • You can filter (retail) market trends and incorporate them into a vision;
  • You can draw up and implement a new business strategy and plan.
